RESOLUTION TO REMOVE PRESIDENT DONALD JOHN TRUMP
Whereas on January 6, 2021, White Supremacists at the urging of Donald Trump, President of the United States, stormed the Capitol; scaled Capitol walls; broke out windows; forced their way into the Congressional Senate Chambers and the offices of high-level Congressional representatives, forcing all members of congress present, to be moved into bunkers for their own protection and terrorizing Congressional leaders participating in this Joint Session of Congress, and
Whereas this successful attempt by White Supremacists was encouraged not only by President Trump, but by Trump family members, Trump political administration, Trump advisors, and Trump’s Attorney, Rudy Giuliani, and
Whereas the purpose of this overrunning of the Capitol by White Supremacists, was to halt the Electoral College count of electors for the purpose of certifying who would be serving as the incoming President of the United States; and
Whereas the Capitol police failed to contain the overrunning of the Capitol by White Supremacists who were encouraged by President Trump in order to stop the Electoral College Vote, a proceeding needed to swear in the next President; and
Whereas the actions encouraged by President Trump caused loss of life, property damage and a loss of reputation to this country, and demonstrated our inability to stop this type of domestic terrorism, further exposing us to become targets by anyone who chooses to take on the United States by an attack on our democratic institutions, and
Whereas Trump continues to hold the nuclear launch codes that can be utilized to launch nuclear weapons against any number of countries in this world, and throw us into a third world war before he legally leaves the Presidency, and
Whereas this president is unstable, vindictive, and unwilling to engage in a peaceful Transfer of Power, continues to hold the nuclear launch codes, remains in control of the military as the Commander in Chief, and clearly has no intention of leaving office peacefully, and
Whereas the White Supremacists who stormed the Capital, erected a noose in front of the Capital building, and carried a Confederate flag into the Capitol rotunda bringing these symbols of White Supremacy that pose a personal threat to Black African Americans throughout this country,
Be it therefore Resolved that the Greater Hartford African American Alliance supports the immediate removal of President Trump by Congress, or in the alternative, his arrest for the sedition which he engaged in, should he refuse to immediately leave the Presidency, and
Be it further Resolved that Congress put in place a mechanism to deal with this type of sedition by any sitting president in the future, and
Be it still further Resolved that Congress engage in a process to immediately remove the nuclear codes from President Trump, whether he continues to serve as President or not, until the swearing in of our next duly elected President.
Be it Finally Resolved that the Greater Hartford African American Alliance and its membership fully endorse and stand in full support of this Resolution.
AFFIRMATION
J. Stan McCauley
